i would not touch this industry even if they gave me a brand new rig for 20,000 and earn 4.00 a mile....why? ..migrants!! they are coming in waves, and this is the first industry they flock too, no skills, just drive like zombies with your wife and 5 kids stuffed in the cabin. No standards, no shame. They sleep in the trucks, low overhead, they work crazy hours, not caring for federal laws...third world mentality. All they need to do is run to a state like NJ where DL's are given like free lemonade, and an EIN number, borrow some money like 20,000 and bingo you got a new trucking company. Till they close the border and deport, this industry is screwed, it's a magnet for illegals.

I work at a small diesel repair shop in Idaho falls idaho. and we have so many trucks sitting because people cant affoard the repairs. People dont realize how expensive it is to own these trucks. We just did an inframe on s 2021 peterbilt with an x15 cummins. The damn thing has Indonesia stamped all over it and the cylinder liners dropped . The inframe kit was 33k by itself. so by the time all was said and done it was over 40k. Suppoedly theres an inventory tax now that has also put a halt on getting parts. We are constantly waiting for parts to come in. Boss is going bankrupt from it

I used to see mostly American truck drivers on the road and we would talk on the cb, but now all I see is mostly truck drivers from other countries, no CB no communication, doing cheap loads

Brokers are the problem 15-20% cut is one thing some of these brokers are getting close to 50% of the load

I would never recommend getting a brand new truck starting out. Way better off to find good used equipment to keep overhead low

Sounds good in paper but in reality it’s different I started my box truck company in 2020 and I stared probably worst time possible I’ve seen many small fleets had to go out of business there was times I would only get one load a week it was horrible had to go back to working in little of everything but the company still up it got better but still not how it use to these brokers be the worst

In bc Canada , Kitimat. Up till 2020, was native, Portuguese, white, 2024, it’s now East Indian, native, Portuguese, white. In Vancouver, East Indian hit bridges at least every two weeks!! In kitimat there spoiled Tim Horton, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s, Kentucky fried chicken, and now dominos. They refry leftovers from other customers!!! Not only are they terrible drivers also terrible cooks and very judgmental people!!!

have you been on CB recently inside the USA there is more non-English chatter than English, let that sink in a nation whose primary language is English has now a majority of non-English speaking people (most likely immigrants) working its key logistical systems then Biden's economy doesn't help as he keeps trying to give the EPA and ATF more power as he and Harris also drive down the effective wage and drive up the effective cost of living pushing more and more companies on the brink over the edge as people are struggling to survive

Just a heads up on this video, the logistics industry just got hit with a recession last year, and the company that I'm currently working in barely survived (we handle mainly refrigerated). If this is the case, it's best to have a relationship or start a relationship with a company before you move on with anything. Have a plan, and don't be discouraged, but know the risk you may have. Best advice anyone will say is have a plan!

There was a time I was considering becoming a truck driver. However I changed my mind. Did you know you can make more quite a bit money than a truck driver makes finding and selling scrap metal using a beat-up old pickup truck. Working a nine-to-five job is for suckers.
